Frequently Asked Questions

Aloha!

Check out our guest’s list of Frequently Asked Questions to get the peace of mind you seek when choosing our vacation rental.

What time is check-in/check-out?

Unless you have arranged for early check-in or late check-out, arrival is 3 PM the day you arrive; departure is 10:00 AM (the day you depart). Check your tickets – if you need a late departure or early arrival ask upon booking.

What should I bring?

PACK LIGHT! We have beach towels & chairs, hairdryers, W/D, Complimentary US and Canada long distance, and speedy wifi. We also supply plenty of TP/Kleenex/Laundry & DW detergent, Kitchen and bath soap, etc to more than get you started. If you are going to cook and need a favorite spice, it might be best to bring it with you as they are very expensive here.

How about wifi?

Even though Maui is in the middle of the Pacific ocean, we have blazing fast wifi that will keep everyone online. We also have Apple TV, so bring your passcode and login to keep up with your favorite shows. Or tell the kids there’s no wifi and have a real vacation!

What about coffee?

How we love our coffee! We have both a Keurig and a drip coffee maker here with enough coffee to get you started. Bring your favorite brand or try something local at Honolulu Coffee or Akamai Cofee.

Where is the pool?

Ekahi has 4 pools; the main one down by the ocean and then 3 ‘Quiet pools’ that are for adults-only (or really just for people who want to snooze). There are no lifeguards and hours are 8 – 10 am. See all the ‘rules’ down by the pavilion.

Where do I park?

There is lots of parking for Ekahi Village guests right beside the building. Upon arrival, complete the parking pass and leave it on your car – deposit the other half at Building 18A and you are good to go. 18A Office Hours: (8-Noon, 1-4 M-F)

What are the best places to eat?

It’s your vacation, and that means taking time off from the kitchen. Our favorites are:

  • Hawaiian Moon for smoothie bowls
  • Pita Paradise & MonkeyPod for family friendly fare
  • Paia Fish Market (in S. Kihei or Paia) for, obviously, fish
  • Maui Brewing Company for easy family meals
  • Morimoto for a special night out
  • A Saigon Cafe, Wailuku – this is good one after the Kapalua Coast hike

How do I checkout?

While none of us ever want to leave, rest assured you are welcome back next year! Here are a few things that would really help us to get started for the next guest:

  • Place all used towels on the bathroom floor – bonus karma points for starting a load of towels.
  • Load and run the dishwasher.
  • Turn off lights, ceiling fans, a/c, and electronics.
  • Lock the doors, and close the windows and screens.

How do I find the condo?

Smoking? Pets? Extra Guests?

Nope, Nope, and Nope (max is 6 guests). Nor is there any loud noise permitted after 9:30 pm. Ekahi is not for late-nighters…definitely a quiet spot for resting and regenerating. For a full list of the House Rules @Ekahi, have a look here.

Are there BarBQ’s on site?

Absolutely, Ekahi has a number of BarBQ’s on site for guests. There are 4 large gas grills down at the Pavillion which is a great place for all the family to gather around the pool. There are also BarBQ’s located throughout the property, the closest to 39F being on the greenbelt right out front of the unit. We supply tools and lighters and there are lots of trays for carrying your food to the BarBQ.

Do you have any enhanced cleaning procedures?

As a vacation rental owner, I’ve become somewhat of a cleaning maniac. My guests might think I’m crazy, but I’m just trying to keep them safe and healthy. I scrub and disinfect every inch of the property until it shines brighter than the sun. I even sanitize the remote control, because who knows where those grubby fingers have been? But hey, at least my guests can rest assured that they’re staying in the cleanest vacation rental in town. But hey, guests can also do their part to help keep things clean. They can also make sure to clean up after themselves, especially in common areas and keep shoes outside (along with the sand!). Let’s work together to make sure our vacation rental stays a clean and happy place!

What is your cancellation policy?

We make a reasonable effort to accommodate life’s unexpected events. The official policy states that 100% of the deposit is refundable if the reservation is canceled more than 30 days prior to your arrival.
